The game had barely got under way when Queens took the lead, Rocco Quinn swooping with two minutes gone to fire into the bottom corner.
County fought back and saw a lot of the ball, but they were unable to test David Hutton and paid the price by falling further behind.
Winger Ryan Conroy was given room to manoeuvre and he punished the visitors with a powerful strike after 22 minutes to make it 2-0.
Derek Holmes nearly made it three before half-time but County improved after the break and Paul Lawson nearly pulled one back.
But the hosts rounded off victory when William McLaren lobbed the ball over Michael McGovern in the final minute.
